Support Forest Watchers....

The huge cry to save the forest and tiger has echoed every nook and corner of the world but ever wonder who really is saving them? Meet the watchers, the true soldiers fighting with their lives at stake. These are the Monthly Rated (MR) and Petty Cash Payment (PCP) workers who form the lowest rank but the front end warriors in saving our endangered forests and wildlife. Wearing an old khaki uniform to protect from the burning sun, the chilling winters or the rains, bare footed with a stick to fight the smugglers, poachers and forest fires, spending most of their lives in remote anti poaching camps with bare minimum facilities, getting paid the minimum wages to support their families and bring up their children in this competitive world, these watchers have no motivation to work but still are sincere and committed.

These bare foot warriors are to be supported, encouraged and motivated and this can be done by a mere recognition, appreciation and support of the hard work they do. A small support is worth a million cries to save the tiger!

Here is an opportunity for you to contribute to their work. Aranya Wildlife Trust plans to distribute rain coats to these watchers in the Brahmagiri, Pushpagiri and Makuta forest ranges before the monsoons. Sponsor for a raincoat and help these watchers in their fight. You can contribute for a minimum of one raincoat. Each raincoat costs us Rs.600/-.

Aranya is a registered trust and each contribution will be accounted with a receipt. Online transfers can also be done to the bank details given below. For correspondence, please cote “Support forest watchers – Raincoat program” with your name and correspondence details.
